Sessions focusing on topics such as soil health, diseases and fertilizer have been announced for the 2023 Prince Edward Island Potato Conference, a Jan. 13 website post said. The conference is happening on Feb. 13 at Credit Union Place in Summerside, P.E.I.
The conference includes sessions updating on the potato wart situation on the Island, potato virus Y, a grower panel on soil health, variable rate seed spacing and common scab. The keynote lunch session is a presentation from Mark Black who is a marathon runner and heart-lung transplant recipient.
Attendees are asked to pre-register by sending an email to Lorraine McKinnon. Cost to attend is $30 which includes lunch. The conference is being held in partnership between the P.E.I. Department of Agriculture and Land, and the P.E.I. Potato Board.
