International Potato Technology Expo Releases 2024 Conference Program

The International Potato Technology Expo released the program for the 2024 conference featuring several presentations from the United Potato Growers of Canada (UPGC), a Jan. 11 news release said. The conference is happening Feb. 22 to 23 in at the Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown, P.E.I.

“The conference is always such an interesting component of the event,” Shawn Murphy, International Potato Technology Expo show manager, said in the release. “The guest presenters always show up with such a passion for their work and it’s thrilling to see how far the industry comes every few years.”

Confirmed sessions include a Canadian potato market update from UPGC’s Victoria Stamper,  an American market update from United Potato Growers of America’s Mark Klompein and a presentation on trends in the agriculture economy from Farm Credit Canada’s Leigh Anderson. Agronomic focused sessions include foliar fungicide management from Gaia Consulting’s Darin Gibson, Colorado potato beetle resistance from Peak of the Market’s Tracy Shinners-Carnelly, a digital agriculture session with IntelMax Corp’s Alex Melnitchouck and a precision agriculture session from University of Prince Edward Island’s Aitazaz Farooque.

More information about speakers and sessions will be released on the International Potato Technology Expo social media pages. Pre-registration is open for the conference with attendees able to register for free using the code “IPT2008”, registration will rise to $20 at the door.
