Launched in Canada: April 2023
Managing soilborne diseases like black scurf and silver scurf is a critical part of potato production. Prior to the launch of AZteroid FC, potato growers were limited to applying their fungicides and fertilizers in separate applications, requiring extra equipment or multiple trips across the field. AZteroid FC allows growers to apply both fungicide and fertility in-furrow at planting simultaneously, simplifying their operations and ultimately saving time and money.

AZteroid FC, containing the market leading fungicide azoxystrobin, is the first nano-enabled pesticide registered for use in Canada. Powered by Vive’s proprietary Allosperse nanotechnology, AZteroid FC contains the trusted fungicide azoxystrobin, delivering long-lasting disease control and maximizing farming efficiency through best-in-class fertilizer compatibility.

“AZteroid FC gives Canadian potato growers a new tool to more efficiently and effectively combat soilborne diseases with the ease-of-use of seamless fertilizer-compatibility. AZteroid FC has proven a useful tool for U.S. potato growers to better protect their plants and ultimately increase the quality and yields of their crops. Vive is thrilled to be able to introduce this groundbreaking fungicide to the Canadian potato grower,” says David Rummel, Vive’s vice president of sales and business development.

“Bringing cutting-edge innovation to the pesticide industry is groundbreaking work that will directly impact how Canadian potato growers use crop protection. At Vive, we’ve been delivering Precision Chemistry™ solutions to the U.S. potato market since 2016 and we couldn’t be more excited to bring this technology to our home potato acres with the introduction of AZteroid FC fungicide,” adds Darren Anderson, Vive’s CEO.
