BASF Herbicide Zidua SC Expanded for Potato Use

-

Zidua SC has had its label expanded in Canada to now include potatoes, BASF says in a news release on March 19. Zidua SC (pyroxasulfone) provides controls against germinating annual grasses and broadleaf weed seedlings before or soon after crop emergence.

The Group 15 herbicide provides potato growers more options to manage resistant Redroot pigweed, Common waterhemp, Kochia and wild oats.

Zidua SC has Maximum Residue Limits in major export markets for Canadian potatoes including the United States, Mexico and Japan. BASF encourages growers to check with their processor first to make sure Zidua SC is approved for application.
