Québec Parmentier Buys Seed Potato Producer

-

Québec Parmentier has bought Ferme G. G. & A. Montminy, a seed potato producer in the Péribonka region of Quebec, a Jan. 13 news release says.

“Today’s announcement marks a turning point in the history of Québec Parmentier. This transaction makes it possible, through our subsidiary SEQ Marketing, to meet the growing demand of our customers in terms of volume, quality and varieties of seed potatoes — thereby strengthening our position as a leader in the seed potato industry in Canada,” Pierre Chouinard, Québec Parmentier CEO, says in the release.

Ferme G. G. & A. Montminy is located in a protected cultivation zone which gives it an advantage for seed potato quality, the release notes.

“Considering that the seed potato industry is constantly changing, this acquisition allows us to continue to serve our customers and meet their needs,” Kevin Rivard, president of Québec Parmentier, says in the release.
