Canadian Potato Council Announces New Executive Director

The Canadian Potato Council, CPC, announced Gary Stordy as their executive director according to a release.

Stordy has worked for the Canadian pork producers as the director of Government and Corporate Affairs for 15 years. In this role, Stordy led communication efforts and was a national spokesperson for the industry. He worked on the development of a pork promotion-research agency industry application and led government relations, which included interacting with federal and provincial government senior executives and elected officials.

Prior to this role, Stordy was the director of Porc NB Pork, an association representing pork producers in New Brunswick. With the Province of New Brunswick’s Department of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries and Department of Training and Employment Development, Stordy spent five years working on policy development.

Stordy will take over for David Jones who’s retirement comes at the end of March 2023.
