Alberta Potato Conference Cancelled for Second Year in a Row

The Potato Growers of Alberta have made the decision to cancel this year’s conference and trade show due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the group says in an Oct. 14 notice.

“Like many other events that are being cancelled, we have made this decision in the best interest of our growers, their families, our industry associates and for everyone that is involved in the undertaking of this event,” the notice says.

The conference was set to be held in Red Deer, Alta. on Nov. 22 to 24. The notice says there are already plans to be at the Cambridge Hotel and Conference Centre in Red Deer on Nov. 15-17. 2022.

The notice says if you have made reservations for hotel rooms this year, you should either cancel them or move the reservation to next year.

The 2020 conference and trade show were also cancelled due to the pandemic.
