In 2021, there were 933,000 acres planted, more than the 912,000 acres planted in 2022, according to the report. The area harvested in 2021 was 923,600, with 2022 numbers coming in at 906,100.

The report notes the yield forecast, which currently sits at 438 cwt per acre, is down from last year’s yield by 6 cwt.
