Portage Potato Festival Cancelled

-

The Portage Potato Festival Committee has decided to cancel the 2020 Portage Potato Festival due to the ongoing pandemic, the organization says in a Facebook post.

“It was a difficult decision but with the directive through the provincial government regarding large gatherings not being permitted until at least September 2020 and with everyone’s safety in mind, we had no choice,” the post says.

The festival was scheduled to take place on Aug 7 to 8 in Portage la Prairie, Man. and would have been in its 18th year. It will return in 2021 on Aug 13 to 14, the post says.
