P.E.I. Growers Win Big at Royal Agricultural Winter Fair

-

Gerrit Visser and Sons of Orwell Cove, P.E.I. captured the grand champion title in the table stock potato division at this year’s Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto. They took first prize in the class for Yukon Gold, Fabula, or Other Yellow Fleshed varieties and also took the top honours in the show. The Visser family also took home the Ontario Potato Board award for the champion table stock.

The Vissers also had one other entry at the fair; they exhibited in the class for Gemstar, Goldrush, or Other Russet Skinned varieties and placed second. For more information, visit the Guardian.
