Sixth WPC Webinar Announced

-

The World Potato Congress (WPC) is pleased to be offering its sixth webinar via Zoom in its 2019 series. The next webinar is to take place on Nov. 14, 2019, at 9 am EST with Kris Michiels presenting, “Illustration of Regional Potato Promotion: Flanders (Belgium).”

Michiels is a marketing adviser at VLAM (Flanders’ Agricultural Marketing Board). Michiels graduated in 1977 as a commercial engineer at the Catholic University of Leuven. He has worked at VLAM since 1988 and specializes in consumer insights and marketing strategy.

Presentation

Michiels will explain why generic promotion for potatoes is useful and how it is organized in Flanders (region in Belgium). Following a description of the structure and the way of financing of VLAM, Michiels will demonstrate how they work on a strategic way and to which kind of potato promotion campaigns this leads to. Michiels will also share experiences and lessons learned about potato promotion.

The host for the WPC webinar series will be WPC director, Dr. Nora Olsen ([email protected]).
