New Grimme Field Loader Arrives in Time for Aug. 22 Show

-

On Thursday, August 15, the new Grimme Field Loader arrived from Germany, and  HJV Equipment in Alliston, Ont., has brought the first one to North America!

Depending on harvest conditions, a single trailer of potatoes can contain up to 20 per cent soil and/or trash. This can amount to as much as 1,000 tons per 100 ha, according to studies by Grimme. The new Field Loader is designed to reduce this trash content saving both time and money by limiting the amount of trash on the static grading line during harvest.

Four large wheels on a tandem axle help to keep ground pressure to a minimum while ensuring a smooth ride during road transport.

The Field Loader has an impressive output of 120 tonnes/hour depending on soil type, crop and conditions. It will be on display at the Ontario Potato Field Day on August 22 at HJV Equipment where you can get more information on this state-of-the-art Grimme machine that enhances farm sustainability and helps to protect the environment.

The number of booths at the Trade Show keeps increasing. There will be a display of potato varieties new to Ontario and a BBQ provided by Syngenta. Growers, researchers, crop consultants and anyone interested in potato should find something of interest.  Everyone is welcome!

I hope to see you all on Thursday, August 22, rain or shine.
