With so much innovation happening, how can you make sure your product gets noticed —and chosen? To help you put together the kind of award application that optimizes your company’s chances of winning, here are a few tips gathered from the best-of-the-best applications we’ve reviewed over the past three years.
- Be clear in detailing WHY your product deserves the award and what impact it will have on the industry. Spud Smart is looking to celebrate products that have a significant overall impact on the industry, high potential for scalability, and widespread application. We’re looking for products with real results!
- Be specific about the challenge your product seeks to tackle, and the solution your product delivers. Details will help us better understand your product and why it matters to the industry.
- Ensure your product meets the award’s requirements: it must have been launched after Jan. 1, 2021; it must be useful to the Canadian marketplace; it must specifically relate to potatoes in some way (food processing is acceptable, so long as potatoes are a target crop.)
- Apply on time! Applications are due by Feb. 14, 2025.
- Be available. We’re going to want to talk to the best-of-the-best innovators for more information, so make sure you clear your voicemail box and check your email.
- Include a photo(s). Pictures really do say 1,000 words. We need a photo to showcase your innovation to the Spud Smart
- Share information about this award with your innovator friends. Celebrating, promoting, and encouraging innovation is critical to our industry’s success.
