Despite unfavourable spring weather potatoes are starting to emerge in southern Ontario, a May 4 email update from Eugenia Banks said.
Potato plants have started to emerge on Dave and Francine White’s farm near Vanessa, Ont.
“They always produce an excellent quality crop, and it is exciting to know that their first Envols are emerging,” Banks said in the update.
Banks noted warmer, drier weather this coming week will push the crop fast. Potato emerged in southwestern Ontario is expected to start this coming week.
