2017 Ontario Potato Field Day

-

The Ontario Potato Field Day will be held on Thursday, August 17 at the Alliston HJV Equipment location.

This is an excellent opportunity for growers to see what is new in potato equipment, to have a look at new varieties and to exchange information.  In addition, a trade show will feature new potato technology to enhance production practices.

A showcase of innovative new potato equipment will include:

  • The New 6M 1500mm Potato Washer by HJV Engineering
  • The New 4300 Bulkbed by Spudnik
  • The New 1100C Rogator From Agco

Other equipment from Spudnik, Doyle Lenco and Grimme will also be on display. The Field Day will have also a showcase of new potato varieties, never grown in Ontario before. and will be a chance to discuss potato-related matters in a friendly atmosphere.

This year, members of the Canadian Private Potato Breeders Network (CPPPBN) will attend the Field Day. It will be an opportunity for growers to talk to breeders about what they would like to see in new potato varieties, traits like scab resistance.

Included is a barbecue at 5:30 p.m.,  sponsored by Syngenta.
